More:Holland Museum may need $1 million or more to fix 'significant' structural issues The projects, presented to council Wednesday, May 17, have a budget of about $360,000.Assistant City Manager Matt VanDyken said, over the past 18 months, the city had assessments completed at City Hall, which came back with a couple of recommendations for exterior work, plus some short-term recommendations and a few things that could be done in the future. Council voted to award a base bid of $183,000 for Holland City Hall, plus a bid of $54,000 for additional brick repointing, $33,200 for exterior painting, $20,000 for exterior stair repair and a $35,000 contingency budget. The remaining $36,800 will be used for exploratory work at the museum, which officials estimated could require repairs of $1 million or more.The assessment last year found significant water incursion inside the building due to deterioration of the masonry and masonry joints along the roof and around the facade of the building. The work at Holland Museum, meanwhile, will help determine the scope of the work needed.
