For reconditioning the 500,000-gallon Adalee Rd. elevated storage tank to include complete removal/replacement of interior/exterior coatings & miscellaneous repairs. Work to be let under one Contract if award is made. Owner reserves the right to select Bid in Owner's best interest. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, prepared on the form of Bid Bond attached to the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed as a certified company in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of five percent of the Bid. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by Engineer. Bidder shall clearly display current license number on outside of sealed bid envelope. Owner reserves the right to reject any/all proposals & waive technical errors if in Owner's best interest. The Work included in this Contract generally consists of the following: 1. Base Bid - Adalee 500,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank a. Removal of interior and exterior coatings and recoating of the surfaces in accordance with the Contract Documents. Exterior reconditioning requires a full containment system. b. New stainless steel vent insect screening. c. Removal of exterior safety climb systems. d. New 24-inch riser manway. e. Drilling of additional holes in balcony to provide drainage. f. Demolition of existing overflow and installation of new overflow. g. Replacement of barbed wire at site fencing and miscellaneous fence repairs. B. Contingency Bid Items 1. Welded pit repairs as directed by the Engineer. 2. Weld roof rafters as directed by the Engineer in areas where protective coatings cannot be applied.
