The Town of Nantucket, through its Town Manager is seeking the services of a qualified "Owner's Project Manager" as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 44A 1/2 and as further defined by the provisions of this RFQ, to provide Project Management Services for the design, construction, of a new skilled nursing facility (known as Our Island Home "OIH") in Nantucket, Massachusetts ("Project"). In accordance with MGL Chapter 149, Section 44A 1/2 , and for the sake of this document, the term "Owner's Project Manager" (OPM) is intended to mean an individual, corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship, joint stock company, joint venture, or other entity engaged in the practice of providing project management services for the construction and supervision of construction of a new Skilled Nursing Facility, its staff, and all of its sub-consultants. The owner's project manager shall be a person who is registered by the commonwealth as an Architect or Professional Engineer and who has at least five (5) years experience in the construction and supervision of construction of buildings such as healthcare facilities such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities , or other healthcare related buildings; or a person, if not registered as an Architect or Professional Engineer, who has at least seven (7) year' experience in the construction and supervision of construction of buildings such as healthcare facilities such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities , or other healthcare related buildings. The OPM shall be independent of the designer, general contractor or any subcontractor involved in the building project. The "Awarding Authority" will be the Town of Nantucket through its Town Manager. Questions concerning this RFQ must be submitted in writing to: Alice M.
