he public project construction is more specifically defined in the Contract Documents, but generally includes the following items of work: The demolition of existing buildings to top of slab for the properties at 870, 876, 884, 898 & 900 El Camino Real and 800 Hill Street, APN's 045-163-070, 045-162-070, 045-162-080, 045-162-090. All demolition work shall occur within the property boundaries with proper site preparation and cleanup for pre- and post-demolition, and other items as identified in the Contract Documents (the "Work"). ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: The Engineer's estimated total construction cost for this Contract is $70,000 Base Bid and $15,000 Additive Alternative Bid. This estimate is intended to serve merely as a guideline of the magnitude of work. Neither the bidders nor the contractor shall be entitled to claims because of any inaccuracy in the estimated cost range. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: None. The construction Work is to be completed within a total of 50 working days after the date specified in the City's Notice to Proceed. The City will assess liquidated damages in the amount of $4,000 for each and every working day of delay in finishing the work in excess of the contract time. Under Business & Professions Code Section 7028.15 and Public Contract Code Section 3300, all bidders must possess proper licenses for the performance of the work contemplated by the Project except as provided herein. Failure to possess the specified license(s) at the time of bidding will render the bid non- responsive. Contractors must possess a valid California class B contractor's license for this contract.
