The department will not hold retention on this project. Per utah state code A13-8-5 (1) prime contractors cannot hold retention. Refer to utah code A 13-8-5 (1) for more information. Greater than $3M but less than or equal $4M Project Location: US-189; Provo Canyon Walls, Phase II The principal items of work are as follows (for all items of work see attachment): Wall R-297E (Est Facing Repair Qty: 28,500 Sq Ft) Wall R-297F (Est Facing Repair Qty: 8,500 Sq Ft) Traffic Control The project is to be completed: to be determined by competitive bid. Each bidder must submit an electronic bid bond from an approved surety company using UDOT's Electronic Bid System (EBS); or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashier's check for not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the Utah Department of Transportation, showing evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required. The right to reject any or all bids is reserved. Additional information may be secured at the office of the Utah Department of Transportation, (801) 965-4346.
