This project consists of the conversion of a natural turf multi-purpose field into a synthetic turf field. The work includes, but is not limited to: Demolition of existing Natural Turf & selected irrigation Installation of new synthetic turf system (Alternate #1 is a potential upgrade) Modification to grading and stormwater drainage improvements as needed to accommodate the new field surfacing Installation of domestic waterline, isolation valves, hose bibbs & in-ground boxes Installation of electrical conduit and junction boxes for future service needs to pressbox and scoreboard New football/soccer goal system Potential for new sportsfield lighting - Replace all fixtures and controls, but reuse existing poles (Alternate #2) Potential Clean and re-lamp of existing sports field lighting only (Alternate #3) Potential concrete drainage flume in lieu of grass swale on southeast end of field (Alternate #4) The field will be closed during construction. However, the park will remain open. It will be the contractors responsibility to secure the work areas and to protect the public from hazards. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Lenora Park Synthetic Turf & Field Improvements for the Gwinnett County Department of Community Services. The conversion of a natural turf field to synthetic turf, including site improvements and the replacement of the bleachers. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when submitted. All bids should be submitted in duplicate. All contractors must submit with bid, a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid. Failure to submit a bid bond with the proper rating will result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. Successful contractor will be required to meet insurance requirements, submit a one hundred percent (100%) performance bond and a one hundred percent (100%) payment bond. Insurance and Bonding Company should be licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by The Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of Treasury's Publication of Companies holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as acceptable reinsuring companies. The bid bond, payment bond, and performance bond must have an A.M. Best rating of A-5 or higher.
