Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name and address of the bidder clearly identified on the envelope. All bids shall also be marked on the outside of the envelope with the words "Street Repair Bid. Address envelopes to the City Finance Officer, PO Box 553, Bowdle, SD 57428. A certified check or cashiers check in the amount of 5% of the bid or a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid must accompany the bid. The bid should be submitted in a price per square foot basis and the bid bond or certified check would be based upon the coverage area of approximately 65 ton of asphalt material. Proof of Workers Compensation and Liability is required. Bidders must be pre-qualified with the South Dakota Department of Transportation. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR STREET PATCHING: This project will include various locations and sizes of dump and roll patching. The dump and roll work will include prepping the location, including cleaning loose and foreign material from the area, placing tack coat on the area, dumping asphalt over the necessary patch area, and rolling the asphalt patch to a minimum of 1 CIP. The patch is intended to create a smooth driving service over an existing rough and potholed roadway. The measurement basis is the square foot of each location and shall include all work required to provide a finished patch at the location. The entire square foot area of the patching has yet to be determined. The areas to be completed will be determined by the city maintenance personnel and the city council. The completion date shall not be later than the first day of September 2023. Bidders to furnish all equipment and help. The City of Bowdle reserves the rights to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities therein and reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder as they so determine.
