Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Springfield, Missouri. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Mann Elementary Storm Shelter Bond passed on April 4, 2023. The district will move quickly to begin the work on the facilities listed and the work will continue over an estimated five-year period of time. Storm shelter gymnasiums are built to withstand tornadoes and will help protect students and staff during the school day. The full-size gymnasiums will also provide greater flexibility for PE, music classes and special events, since the cafeteria will no longer serve as a multi-purpose space. Architectural designs have already been completed for the storm shelters at Mann and Wilder elementary schools so construction on these two projects could begin as early as May 2023. As of August 11, 2023, a design team has been identified. Design/Build expected May 2023. Construction expected June 2023. Completion expected August 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
