The Town of New Glasgow invites your firm to tender on asphalt patching for the 2023 construction season. The Town of New Glasgow will require strict compliance with our specifications and will require that the contractor provide highly skilled work crews. In awarding a successful tender, the Town of New Glasgow will consider the unit price per tonne of asphalt, the previous history of the quality of the contractor's work for the Town (if any), the experience of the contractor's work crew, and a schedule that meets with the approval of the Town of New Glasgow. The Town of New Glasgow must have a report from a certified testing company prior to the contractor starting the patching program The Town of New Glasgow will allow for an adjustment in the cost per tonne of asphalt based upon the going rate for liquid asphalt (performance graded asphalt binder) at the time of placement. The Town of New Glasgow's assessment of a price increase/decrease will be based on the difference between the posted weighted average MABRP for the month in which the tender closes, and the weighted average MABRP for the month(s) in which the asphalt patching work is performed. A detailed description on how this adjustment will be administered by the Town is described on the Asphalt Patching Bid Sheet The contractor shall submit a copy of a valid "letter of good standing" indicating active participation towards achieving, or having achieved, a certificate of recognition issued jointly by the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, as well as a copy of a current Workers' Compensation Board clearance letter.
