The City of Pittsburgh Has Led the Way With Trail Development Since the Early 1990s. The Trail Network (Known as Three Rivers Heritage Trail) Has Become a Regional and National Destination for Our Iconic Riverfront Experience and Connection to Regional Trails. This Trail System Hosts Various Regional and National Trail Networks Including the Great Allegheny Passage, the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail, the Industrial Heartland Trails, and the Great American Rail Trail. This Connectivity and Continuous Improvement of the Trail System Have Led to an Increase in Users, a Trend Accelerated by the Covid-19 Pandemic, as People Sought New Outdoor Outlets for Respite and Recreation. This Heavy Use, Plus an Ever-increasing Volatility in Weather and River Conditions Due to Climate Change, Has Led to Increased Deterioration of the Trail. the City has the right to make any inquiry it deems appropriate to substantiate or supplement information supplied by a proposer, and proposer hereby grants the City permission to make these inquiries, and to provide any and all related documentation in a timely manner. Guarantees should be in the form of a surety bond, certified check, cashier's check or letter of credit in an exact dollar amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid
