Charleston Community Unit School District #1, Charleston, Illinois will receive bids for: 2023 Track Replacement Charleston CUSD #1 1615 Lincoln Avenue Charleston, Coles County, Illinois. The scope of work consists of providing an all-weather track, replacing the existing track in its current location around the football field north of the high school in Charleston, IL. This work will consist of complete removal of the existing track, existing high jump pad, and existing runways with new HMA track and high jump pad. The new runways shall be PCC. A new latex all-weather surface system shall be applied to these surfaces. The existing pole vault landing pad shall also be resurfaced. A new curb will be installed around the inside edge of the track. A new synthetic turf grass area will be provided on each sideline of the football field. Other work includes new HMA and PCC sidewalks, a new timing system, fencing, seeding, and other miscellaneous appurtenances. Prevailing wages in accordance with Coles County is required. Bid security is required, in the form of a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid as guarantee that the bid will not be withdrawn within 30 days after the date of opening of bids, and that the successful bidder will enter into a Contract for the work awarded them. Bid security shall be made payable to Charleston Community Unit School District #1. Bonds are required: Both a Performance Bond or a Labor & Material Payment Bond is required for this project, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the Owner. Award of a contract is anticipated to occur at the April, 2023 meeting of the Board of Education. Begin construction on May 22, 2023. The Work shall be Substantially Complete on or before July 31, 2023, with Final Completion on August 14, 2023.
