The scope of work includes the construction of a school bus roadway and utility adjustments at Hillsboro High School. The bus roadway construction will consist of drainage structure, earthwork and pavement construction at the south end of the route along with widening and resurfacing the existing roadway at the north end of the route. An access pavement for deliveries is also to be constructed along the bus roadway. A continuation of the delivery area pavement will be part of a future construction phase. The utility adjustments consist of installing and rerouting utilities to provide permanent or temporary services to the existing buildings while making accommodations for future construction phases. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security of a sum no less than 10 percent of the Bid Sum. The bid security shall be either certified check, cashier’s check, bank money order or bid bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Hereinafter this bid security shall be referred to as the bid bond Owner reserves the right to retain security of the next two (2) lowest bidders until the lowest bidder enters into contract or until sixty (60) days after bid opening, whichever is shorter. All other bid security will be returned as soon as practicable. If any bidder refuses to enter into a contract, Owner will retain bid security as liquidated damages, but not as a penalty. Estimated value is $750,000 to $1,000,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
