The Town of Scotland seeks proposals from qualified contractors to perform repairs to the Bass Road Bridge over Merrick Brook (State Structure #04772). Repairs include but are not limited to: removal of single-lane bridge superstructure, removal and disposal of existing two-lane bridge and abutments, modification of single-lane bridge abutments, installation of helical piles and tieback anchors, re-installation of single-lane bridge, and final grading and paving. 1) Installation of water management and pollution control measures; 2) Removal of back wall of east side abutment of ACROW bridge; 3) Removal of existing ACROW bridge and providing for onsite storage; 4) Removal and disposal of the existing concrete bridge underlying the ACROW bridge, including abutments and any fill material between the ACROW bridge abutment and the existing concrete bridge and abutments; 5) Installation of helical piles on both the west and east side abutments; 6) Installation of tieback anchors on both the west and east side abutments; 7) Re-placement of the ACROW bridge on the modified abutments; 8) Rebuilding back wall of east side abutment; 9) Repaving of the Bass Road surface in approaches to the Bridge; and 10) Final site cleanup, grading, inspections, and equipment removal from the site.
