The City of Newburyport, Department of Public Services is accepting Invitation for Bids (IFB) from all qualified contractors for the Installation and Repair of sidewalks throughout the City, pursuant Awarding Authority reserves the right to extend the contract for two (2) additional 12-month options. Valuation for purposes of Mass DOT Prequalification is based on first year times three (3) to arrive at an estimated total prequal contract value. Removing and resetting existing granite curbing and installing new granite or hot mix asphalt curbing as directed. Reconstruction or constructing new cement concrete, hot mix asphalt, brick sidewalks and driveway aprons to meet ADA/AAB requirements, constructing ADA/AAB conforming wheelchair ramps, removing and resetting or replacing roadway signage as directed, rebuilding or adjustment of drainage & sanitary structures, remove & reset gate and water shut off boxes, replace drainage structures as needed and replace sections of drain pipe as directed by the awarding authority. Provisions for safety controls and signage for construction operations and other incidental items must be included in accordance with OSHA, THE WORK ZONE SAFETY GUIDELINES and STANDARD TRAFFRIC CONTROL PLANS. Items not listed in these specifications shall be in conformance with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation - Highway Division latest editions of the STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGES, all SUPPLEMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS and as directed by the DPS Director or DPS Deputy Director.
