Site work for a water / sewer project in Cochrane, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Well 5 was drilled by International Water Supply in 1982. It was constructed as a double cased, back off design, gravel packed well. The well has an upper 600mm casing with a 300mm diameter inner casing from 27.5 to 37.5m below top of casing and 300mm diameter stainless steel wire wrap screen set from 37.5m to 43.8m. The 600mm diameter outer casing is set to a depth of 30.6m. In 1998, a new 250mm diameter stainless-steel liner and well screen were installed to address a corrosion hole discovered in the existing300mm casing. The top of the liner was set at a depth of 27.2m and fitted with a bell style reducer Well 5 was tested in 2009 and showed that performance had declined to approximately 34% of the original as-constructed capacity. A rehabilitation was completed in 2010, which failed to improve the well performance. Install a 6-inch pump and an additional stainless-steel liner in the well 5 to repair the corrosion and restore well performance to a minimum of between 20-22 L/s.
