CITY OF FITCHBURG 23-078-C Crocker School Roof MGL c. 149, Project over $50k. The City of Fitchburg invites sealed bids for removal and replacement of Crocker school roof. A bid deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total project is required. A Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the sum of 50% of the Contract Price will be required of the successful Bidder. Project is subject to compliance with prevailing wage requirements. Payment Bond Requirements 50% Bond required for projects costing $150,000 or more This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, and any resulting contract will be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of the solicitation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. The City reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the scope of work and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder. Last day for questions April 13th, 2023 All information with respect to this solicitation shall be directed through the Chief Procurement Officer, including questions, clarifications, or observations. Bidder shall not contact any City employee, agent, official, department, department head, or agent with regards to this solicitation. Doing so may lead to disqualification of the bid. The roof at Crocker School is believed to have been placed sometime in the 1960's and consists of tar and gravel. It is about 13,400 square feet in size. The current scope of work includes - o Removing loose gravel from the existing roof system in order to install the new roof system over the existing tar and gravel roof. The existing roof is to remain in place and the new roof shall be installed over it. o Furnish and install 60 Mil black EPDM directly over the tar and gravel roof. The membrane will be mechanically attached to the deck in the seams. o Furnish and install flashings for all existing roof penetrations and walls. o Furnish and install termination bar at the perimeter of the roof. There will be no new edge metal installed. SCOPE OF THE WORK The work comprises the completed construction required by the Contract documents and includes all labor, tools, materials, supplies, equipment, approvals, permits, paperwork, calculations, submittals, and certificates necessary to develop, construct, and complete the work in accordance with all laws, and all construction and other services required to be supervised, overseen, performed, or furnished by the Contract or that Contract documents require. The Contractor agrees to meet or exceed all requirements of this Contract and the Contract documents.
