The work of this Section consists of providing all labor, equipment, materials, incidental work, and construction methods necessary to perform all lawn installation and fine grading work and related items as indicated on the Contract Documents and/or as specified in this Section and includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Seed mix #1 - Turf seed mix 2. Seed mix #2 - Rain garden seed mix - add alt #1 3. Top dressing & over-seeding 4. Maintenance & protection 5. Turf area protection fencing 6. Aeration - add alt #2 7. Overseeding - add alt #2 8. Fertilizer - add alt #2 9. Turf warranty Furnish both a 100% Payment & 100% Performance Bond from a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth and satisfactory to the City in the sum of 50% of the contract price, the premiums for which are to be paid by the General Contractor and are included in the contract price. The Contractor agrees to allow the City to deduct from progress payments and retention and to pay to the City as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars and No Cents ($250.00) for each day that expires after the Contract Time specified for Substantial Completion until the Work is Substantially Complete. The performance period for any contract that results from this Invitation for Bids shall commence on or around August 23, 2023 and terminate no later than October 13, 2023. If electing to complete Add/Alt #2, the contract will terminate no later than June 1, 2024. The City of Salem reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to waive any informality in the IFB/RFP process, if deemed in the City's best interest.
