The purpose of this RFP is to obtain a general construction contractor to provide a variety of construction and maintenance activities including roofing repair, window and door repair & replacement, carpentry (both rough and fine), siding, masonry (brick, block and concrete), general construction and routine building maintenance work. Work activities will be at London Hydro facilities, 111 Horton Street as well as at several of our electrical substation installations throughout the City of London. It is the general intent of this contract that the Contractor will be called by London Hydro’s Facilities Department for repairs and new construction as required. All work shall be performed by the Contractor or subcontractors who are licensed. All work shall be performed to the Ontario Building Code and to London Hydro’s requirements. Special requirements that are site specific shall be discussed with the Contractor prior to final layout and estimating. London Hydro has a list of general repairs and upgrades to the facilities that will be issued to the Contractor at London Hydro’s discretion. This contract will commence May 1, 2023 and end on April 30, 2026. The Contractor will be required to estimate specific projects for budget purposes as the work is assigned. This contract does not guarantee any amount of work and London Hydro reserves the right to obtain competitive bids and award work to other contractors. The deadline for submitting questions is Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. local time. The successful Contractor shall, at its own expense, obtain and maintain until the termination of the contract and shall provide London Hydro Inc. (London Hydro) with evidence of: Commercial General Liability insurance on an occurrence basis for an amount not less than Two Million ($2,000,000.) dollars and shall include London Hydro Inc. and the Corporation of the City of London as additional insured with respect to the Contractor’s operations, acts and omissions relating to its obligations under this Agreement. Such policy to include, personal injury, property damage, broad form property damage, contractual liability, non-owned automobile liability, owner’s and contractor’s protective coverage, products - completed operations, contingent employers liability, cross liability and severability of interest clauses London Hydro reserves the right to reject any and all proposal(s), the right to accept other than the lowest bidder, and also the right to not accept any bid
