The Town of Wellesley's Department of Public Works invites bids for the purchase of Hot Mix Asphalt, Picked-Up, in accordance with the terms of an Invitation for Bid. This contract shall be made available for purchases of said materials to other Town of Wellesley Departments and Boards. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Wellesley. The bid deposit shall be not less than 5% (five percent) of the bid. This contract, in accordance with both Chapter 303, section 60 of the Acts of 2008 and Chapter 10, section 4 of the Acts of 2011, contains price adjustment clauses for diesel fuel, gasoline, liquid asphalt, Portland cement concrete, and steel in the bid documents as are applicable. The base price on this project will be based on the most recently published price at the release of the contract documents. This price adjustment shall be based on the Massachusetts Department of Transportation pricing and will be clearly noted in the Information for Bidders section of the contract documents. No such envelope shall contain more than one bid. The Department of Public Works reserves the right to accept any bid item or combination of bid items or reject any or all proposals, as in its sole judgment, the best interest of the Town of Wellesley would be served by so doing.
