Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. Design plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Through the Federal Active Transportation Fund the Town of Port Hawkesbury has developed a two phase plan to provide connection between existing active transportation facilities and destinations to incorporate multi-use modes of transportation in Port Hawkesbury, and to connect to destinations throughout the region byway of the Nova Scotia Blue Route. Locations include: Tamarac Drive Connection, a new 500m multi-use pathway facility is proposed for this area which will help to promote accessibility and healthy living for residents and provide a safe off-road facility for students walking and cycling to school. This project provides a connection to the renowned Town community nature trail network as well as alternate routing for looping recreational AT trips through to the Reeves Street AT facilities. TIMELINE: Design is underway. Tender and construction may be confirmed mid-/fall 2024. *Budget is unreleased.
