As of July 20,2023, project was awarded to Sealand Contractors Corp., awarded amount is $740,542.22. The proposed work is generally described as follows: Construction of 200 LF right turn lane on Kannapolis Parkway at South Bound on ramp to I-85 and associated signal improvements. Each Bid shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid, said check to be made payable to the City of Kannapolis. Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance bond and a Construction Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract amount as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bids and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. Bidders shall make a Good Faith Effort to use MBE and WBE subcontractors in accordance with Bid Documents. The MBE goal for the project is 1.0%, the WBE goal for this project is 2.0%.
