Engineer's Estimate: $310,600 City of Akron Local Goal: 18% EDGE/DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBE (minimum 3% WBE) Electronic Proposal Documents are available at website The purpose of this project is to upgrade the HVAC system at the Akron Water Plant Laboratory due to age, maintenance, and obsolescence of the system. The HVAC and Building Automation System (BAS) is 22 years old, installed in 1994. Components of the system include a packaged chiller, a condensing boiler, chilled and hot water hydronic pumping, three (3) air handling units (AHU), eleven (11) VAV boxes, and seven (7) fan coil units. The laboratory also contains three (3) laboratory hoods. The chiller is one year old, and the boiler is 4 years old. All components to be replaced in-kind. Plans are in accordance with the City of Akron, Construction and Material Specifications, 2008 Edition and with the City's standard construction drawings, unless otherwise noted in the plans or the bid book.
