Open ditch repairs and tree clearing and grubbing within the district right-of-way. Work shall consist of excavation of 34 stations of open ditch, lowering one 54" CMP culvert, cleaning out a culvert under I-35, tree clearing along 650 stations of open ditch, and all incidentals required to complete the project. Majority of open ditch is clear or light shrubbery, approximately 2 miles of dense growth. No measurement of quantity was made, contractor is responsible to make their own determination of quantity within the right-of-way. Bid Security. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security, as defined in Section 468.35a of the Iowa Code in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Base Bid. Time for Commencement and Completion of Work. Work on the improvement shall commence upon approval of the contract by the Board, and as stated in the Notice to Proceed. All work under the Contract must be substantially completed no later than September 30th, 2023. Damages in the amount of $500.00 per day will be assessed for each day the work remains incomplete.
