The proposed Central Park Community Center (CPCC) will be an essential focal point of the public realm in terms of scale, character, and focus. It will evoke a unifying and grand presence providing a gateway to publicly accessible places from individual respite to large public gatherings within the Central Park area. These spaces include intriguing landscapes, environments, and uses to further emphasize a vibrant and unifying focal point for the entire community. The designated site for the CPCC is located west of the existing Teen Center in the northeast quadrant of Paseo Padre Parkway and Stevenson Boulevard intersection in Central Park. This proposed community center will be Central Park's signature building, prominently located within 433-acre Central Park, overlooking Lake Elizabeth, and with expansive views of Mission Peak and surrounding hills. The preliminary conceptual plan provides for a large multi-sport gymnasium, an outdoor/indoor community center with a full kitchen, dance/exercise room, administrative offices, class rooms for providing programs to all ages, and additional spaces for City and community uses with adjacent parking facilities to support staff and visitors. Together, these key elements will establish a collective place where the community of Fremont can come to connect, communicate, and celebrate when visiting Central Park.
