The Town of Tiverton invites sealed bids for the curbside collection, transportation and disposal of residential: trash, recyclables, yard waste, white goods and bulky waste from residential & municipal properties. In addition, the town is requesting alternate bids for automated (single-manned vehicle) collection services for both trash and recyclables. Bids must be made in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations of the United States, the State of Rhode Island, and the Town of Tiverton. The bid process shall consist of an open question period to all interested bidders, submission of proposals before the designated deadline, screening of all timely proposals by the Town, and selection of the lowest qualified bidder or bidders. Each bidder must post a bid security consisting of a certified check drawn on a national bank or trust company, or a bid bond in a form satisfactory to the Town with a surety company qualified to do business in Rhode Island, in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000), payable to the Town of Tiverton. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive minor informalities or irregularities in any bid and to make an award in any manner consistent with the law and deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Tiverton. The Town's budgetary constraints will be a significant consideration and bids which cannot be accommodated within the limits of the Town's resources will not be successful. The Town will only entertain bids for the time period that is stated by the Town on each of the separate Standard Bid Forms that are included in Exhibit D. At its sole discretion, the Town shall have the option to extend the contract(s) for up to five (5) additional years in one-year or multi-year increments, at a mutually acceptable price, said options to be exercised in writing at least sixty (60) days before the date on which the contract would otherwise expire, as authorized by a resolution of the Tiverton Town Council. The Town may award one contract for all services or at its discretion award multiple contracts for individual services or reject all bids within thirty (30) calendar days after the opening of bids.
