Reference Number 0000414924 Work includes the extension of North Jay Street from its current dead-end northeast to the intersection of Nott Street and Maxon Road, creating a new connection between Downtown Schenectady and the Mohawk Harbor area. Construction will include work zone traffic control, installation of a new two-lane roadway, sidewalk and multi-use path construction, parking lot reconstruction, drainage improvements, bioretention systems, signage, pavement striping, and decorative street lighting. This Complete Streets project will improve pedestrian and bicycle access to key destinations including Union College, Ellis Hospital, the Mohawk-Hudson Bike Hike Trail, and the Little Italy neighborhood. The owner of this contract is the City of Schenectady.
