Renovation of an educational facility in Jackson, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and 21,000-square-foot educational facility.
This project is located at 2800 Springport Rd, Jackson, MI 49202 and is released for bids in accordance with the project plans and specifications dated March 16, 2023, as prepared by OX Studio, Inc. This project consists of renovations and improvements to an existing (21,000 SF) higher education building (formerly Baker College) for the DaVinci Lower Elementary School students. Renovations include select demolition of walls, ceilings, carpets, casework and corresponding electrical and mechanical systems. New finish updates will include new doors, aluminum doors/windows, framing/drywall/finishing, painting, ceilings, and flooring to classrooms and multi-purpose areas to improve and enhance learning spaces and functional use. Proposals must be accompanied by bid security made payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Bidder's maximum bid price in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety or insurance company that is duly licensed or authorized in Jackson County, MI. The bid security will be returned immediately after award or contracts by the Construction Manager. However, if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish the required bonds and insurance within 30 days after award of contracts, the bid security amount will be forfeited to the Construction Manager and Owner. This is NOT a prevailing wage project. If a Contractor is to find an apparent discrepancy in, or omission from the Contract Documents, or should they be in doubt as to their true meaning, or should they have any questions regarding any work or material intended, then such Contractor, shall submit to the Construction Manager, who will in turn submit it to the Architect, a written request for an interpretation thereof. The Contractor submitting the request shall be responsible for its prompt delivery and such request must be delivered to the Construction Manager. Requests must be submitted on the form attached at the end of this section to the attention of the Construction Manager on or before the end of the day Friday, April 14th 4:00pm. B. This document and instructions are part of the Contract Documents and shall serve as the basis for all proposals along with the Plans, Specifications, General and Supplemental Conditions. C. The proposal form shall be completed in its entirety (2 copies). Where requested, alternate pricing, unit pricing, and all amounts must be provided in both written and numeric format. D. Any proposal that is incomplete, or missing information, may be rejected. Likewise, proposals that contain modifications or qualifications to the base proposal may be rejected. E. Each sealed proposal shall be signed in long hand and executed by the principal duly authorized to enter into contract agreements. The company's legal name must be utilized. F. All proposals shall remain valid for a period of forty-five (45) days. Any proposal may be withdrawn or modified if requested in writing by the Contractor if received at the proposal submittal address listed above and prior to the date/time identified for the deadline. Any proposal submitted after the deadline expressed herein will remain unopened and returned to the Contractor. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, waive informalities in bidding, or to accept proposals which serve the best interests of the Owner.
