Renovation of a municipal facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Roof Mounted Condensing Unit - Sheriff's Office The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting bids to remove the existing 80-ton Trane roof mounted Condensing Unit and Trane Cooling Coils from existing AHU at the Kent County Sheriff's Office located at 701 Ball Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Once project is started, work will be continuous until the point of completion. Kent County, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to award to the Respondent whose response is deemed most advantageous to Kent County. Where price is a consideration, delivery, project schedule, warranty, maintenance, and life cycle costs will be utilized in evaluating this award. Desired to be fully complete and signed off by Kent County before September 30, 2023. Lead Times requested to be submitted with vendor response. SCOPE o Kent County desires a turnkey solution including quick turnaround warranty and maintenance support which will have to integrate with the existing HVAC control system. This includes but is 2 not limited to the removal of all piping, insulation, brackets, mounts, seals, controls, valves, filters, electrical, disconnects, wiring, drains, supports, and all other ancillary equipment related to the proper control and operation of the existing Air conditioning units. o The contractor is to replace the existing unit with a new, 80-ton, R-410a, or modern refrigerant, Condensing unit, and cooling coil, including but is not limited to all refrigerant, piping, insulation, brackets, mounts, seals, controls, valves, filters, electrical, disconnects, wiring, drains, supports, and all other ancillary equipment related to the proper control and operation of the existing Air conditioning unit. o All roof curbs, curb adaptors, and work-related roof repairs/damage are to be covered by the installation contractor. o All crane/lift, debris removal, and site remediation must be covered by the installation contractor. o Warranty to start after final installation check, test and start, and owner sign off that the unit operates as specified. Dimensions, if furnished, are for general reference only and should be verified by Respondent. Kent County will award and contract for the goods and services in this Solicitation in an efficient and timely manner. In no event will notification of award be more than 45 days from the date of submission A Mandatory pre-submission conference is scheduled for this Solicitation. Meeting location will start at the statue in front of the Sheriff's Office Administration Building (Appendix A). Attendee should arrive a minimum of 5 minutes before the conference scheduled date and time to sign-in. Attendee will not be allowed to sign in after the conference has commenced at mandatory meetings and is disqualified from participating in this Solicitation. The conference provides equal opportunity to seek clarifications and inspect the location (if applicable). Attendee shall have fully reviewed all Solicitation documents and correspondence prior to the conference. Attendee is responsible for taking meeting notes and shall be an employee or authorized reseller of the Respondent with requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities to participate Each offer over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for 5% of the total amount of the offer. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file a certified dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. If requested, the Original Bid Bond must be received by the Kent County Purchasing Division within 2 business days of request. Bid Bonds of unsuccessful Respondents will be returned after the Solicitation is awarded. The Bid Bond of the successful Respondent will be retained until the contract is fully executed by all parties involved. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract. WARRANTY All goods shall consist of the original manufacturer warranty in addition to any other warranties specified in this Solicitation. Respondent shall execute all documents necessary to transfer applicable express warranties to Kent County. The Respondent shall not disclaim any warranty recognized by Michigan law including the Warranty of Merchantability or the warranty of Fitness for a Particular Purpose. SECURITY Contract employees requiring access to County facilities must undergo a criminal background check before starting work. This means EVERYONE including visitors from the "home office," substitute workers, regional supervisors, etc. Kent County will conduct a thorough criminal background check of all contractor employees assigned to this facility. Kent County shall be the sole determiner of the suitability of potential contract employees to work in this facility. The Respondent should expect that it will take up to three weeks to conduct a criminal background check. Inquiries on the status of background checks will not be permitted during this time. The Respondent should have sufficient personnel approved by Kent County so that absences can be covered. Criminal background checks will be done at no cost to the Respondent. Excessive background checks may constitute a cost to be determined by Kent County. The County reserves the right to permanently bar any contract employee for behavior it deems inappropriate Inquiries Deadline Date & Time (local) 4/20/2023, 2 PM Any and all communication regarding this Solicitation shall be on the Kent County Purchasing Division Inquiry Blog via the Bid Opportunities page or during pre-proposal meetings. Kent County reserves the right to determine response format or not respond, in its sole discretion.
