Renovation of an educational facility in Santa Cruz, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Description of Work: Modification to existing telecommunications rooms, removing and replacing select existing data cabling with new cat6 data cables and adding Wireless Access Points (WAP's) throughout buildings. In addition, modification to exterior doors with CCURE electronic security system and hardware. Alternate #1: Provision of electronic access control of the four Telecommunications Rooms entry doors serving 7151 Crown College Gauss House, 7152 Crown College Descartes House, 7153 Crown College Rutherford House and 7154 Crown College Galileo House. Each of the four buildings is supported by one Telecom Room. Work includes provision of a card reader, a local alarm sounder, an IP camera with horizontal Cat 6 station cabling, an electric lock, a door/gate position switch and door/gate alterations as required to incorporate and integrate control of each of these openings into the work of the Base Bid Scope. Reference the A, TN and TY drawings and the Project Manual for the complete requirements of the scope. Unit Prices: 1. UTP6-4, per foot, exclusive of support or termination or testing. 2. 4 Category 6 jacks, 2 terminated at a patch panel, 2 terminated at a Work Area Outlet (WAO), inclusive of testing, WOA faceplate and labeling, exclusive of the cost of the cabling or patch panel. 3. 1SR1, per foot, placed at 15' or less above finished floor. 4. 2SR2, per foot, placed at 15' or less above finished floor. 5. 1-1.25" EMT conduit, per foot, placed at 15' or less above finished floor. University supplied equipment: University will furnish Wireless Access Points to be installed by Contractor at selected interior and exterior locations as indicated on the plans. Only bidders who participate in the pre-bid conference and job walk will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
