Bid security shall be 5% and furnished in accordance with the Request for Bids. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to Owner, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Request for Bids and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States The project is generally located on Woodland View Drive from S. 5th Street to 920 Woodland View Drive in Centerville, Iowa. Work on the improvement may commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and all work shall be completed by October 31, 2023. The City of Centerville, Iowa reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities and technicalities. Construction of approximately 1,760 SY of reinforced PCC pavement, 1,259 LF of reinforced PCC curb and gutter, 277 SY of reinforced PCC driveway and final elevation grading of approximately 2,039 SY of modified subbase. City will be responsible for pavement removal, subgrade preparation, placement of modified subbase, and surface restoration. City will provide reinforcing steel.
