Renovation of an educational facility in Brookings, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Cashier's Check for 5% of the bid, or a Bid Bond for 10% of the bid. Such bid security shall be in compliance with Chapter 5-18B of the South Dakota Codified Laws. As soon as the BID prices have been compared, the Owner will return bid security of all except the three lowest responsible BIDDERs. When the CONTRACT is awarded, the BONDs of the two remaining will be returned. The BOND of the successful BIDDER will be retained until the AGREEMENT, Performance Bond and Payment Bond have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned. Signatures of all parties shall be notarized. No bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above requirements, and any deficient bid submitted must be resealed and returned to the bidder immediately. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Bid Bond of the three lowest Bidders for each contract will be retained until the contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than sixty (60) days after the date of the Bid. Bids shall be in accordance with, and submitted on, the Bid form supplied within the Bid Documents. Failure to do so may result in rejection of the Bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any formalities therein and rebid the project until a satisfactory bid is received. The Information to Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Form of Performance-Payment Bond, Drawings, Specifications, addenda, and other contract documents as prepared by JLG Architects may be examined CHECKLIST: The following items need to be submitted along with your bid. All bids and any modifications to bids must be in the hands of the State Engineer or the State Engineer's representative on or before the time set for opening bids in the Invitation for Bids. All blanks on the Bid Form are filled in. Receipt of all addenda is noted on the Bid Form. Bid Form is signed by an officer of the corporation or, if not a corporation, a proprietor or partner. For bids of $50,000.00 or higher, a bid bond or security is submitted with the bid. If a foreign contractor, a fully executed "Non-Resident Bidder Affidavit" is submitted with the bid. The bid, bid bond or security, and "Non-Resident Bidder Affidavit" are placed in a sealed envelope labeled in accordance with Paragraph 2 of the "Instructions to Bidders."
