Description: Calhoun County has received a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) FY 2021 Brownfield Cleanup Grant to address contamination at the Calhoun County Justice Center property. The property is located at 161 East Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, MI. The purpose of the U.S. EPA Cleanup Grant funds is to assist the County in remediating hazardous substance contamination at the site to allow for redevelopment. Calhoun County is requesting bids from qualified contractors to provide the cleanup activities described herein. The selected firm will be subject to federal contract requirements, including, but not limited to, Minority Business Enterprise/Women's Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) program, project certification process, and minimum Federal (Davis-Bacon) wage rates, where applicable. Pre-Bid Meeting Details: Please sign up if you plan to attend the pre-bid meeting Bidders are to enter the building from the Public Entrance, located on the north side of the building. Public parking is available on the north side of the building. The meeting will be immediately followed by a tour of the project site. Representatives of County Administration and Community Development will be present to discuss the project, bidding requirements and project sequencing requirements. Attendance at the pre- proposal conference is strongly encouraged in order for the bidder to submit a bid.
