Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms or copies thereof furnished in the bid documents. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids if such action is determined to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to revoke the pre-qualification of any bidder in accordance with Section 39-2-4, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended in 1997 (by Act 97-225). This project is exempt from Sales Tax. Contractor's bids are not to include Sales Tax on materials (tangible personal property) to be incorporated into realty. Each contractor MUST submit a written/electronic "letter of intent" to the Construction Manager (see contact information below) for each bid package that a contractor wishes to submit a proposal. 2. The Construction Manager will send the applicant the pre-qualification criteria. Those criteria and supporting information must be completed and returned to the Construction Manager (Robins & Morton - see address below) for review no later 2:00 pm Central Time, Friday, April 7, 2023. After review, the Construction Manager will notify all applicants in writing of their standing to bid on this project as approved or denied. 3. After written/electronic notification of acceptance of pre-qualification, the Construction Manager will release plans/specifications. Applicants are encouraged to begin this process as early as possible. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications or abandon the registration/prequalification process, should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby. Scope of Work - Sportsplex: - Phase I: Demolition of existing outdoor splash pad and playground, existing utilities, detention pond, asphalt drive, and parking. - Phase I: Addition of new Olympic size swimming pool with aluminum grandstand seating and shade structure, shallow recreation pool with play structure, pool pump building; and new entrance building with locker/rest rooms, office, concessions, and support spaces. - Phase II: Renovation to the existing indoor pool which includes new LED lighting, painting roof deck, and new pool filter equipment. c. Scope of Work - Covington: - Phase I: Demolition of existing outdoor splash pad and swimming pool. - Phase I: Addition of new outdoor recreation pool with play feature and slide, splash pad, and pool pump building All questions relating to project (Questions/RFIs/Substitution Request) prior to bid must be submitted in written format to John Brennan via email (jbrennan@dadot.com) AND William Byrd via email (williamb@robinsmorton.com).
