Bids shall include the furnishing and installation of all labor, materials, permits, equipment, tools, supplies, etc., for complete operating installation of the Utility Department Fiber Optic Connections Project. This project entails approximately 53,776 LF of new 2-inch conduit and cable Placement, 68,059 LF of pull through existing duct, along with (67) 24" x 24" x 36" (11) 30" x 48" x 36" Hand Holes, fiber optic cable splicing termination and testing. The majority of the work, as indicated per these specifications and as directed by the Engineer, under this Contract shall consist of: Installing conduit, pull boxes and fiber optic cables necessary to bring network connectivity to various Water/Sewer Utility sites throughout the City of New Berlin, and all incidental items necessary to complete the work as shown on the plans and included in the proposal and contract. Permitting with the City of New Berlin, Waukesha County and the WISDOT ROW is necessary for this project. The contractor will be required to obtain all necessary permits for the work as outlined in the project Plans. All work performed and all materials supplied under this Contract shall conform to these special provisions, attached and made a part of the Contract Documents by reference herein and to all specifications, codes, and ordinances either referred to in these specifications or established by law. Due to funding limitations, the City reserves the right to delete any of the work to satisfy the budget limitations. The Contractor will not receive extra compensation due to the deletion of any of the work, even if the amount deleted exceeds 15% of the original contract amount.
