Site work for a water / sewer project in Wausau, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

https://www.spartnerships.com/pipeline/2023/government-contracting-pipeline-10-25-2023.html Wisconsin allocates over $402 million to tackle polluted drinking water Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has announced that its Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will allocate $402 million to address polluted drinking water throughout the state. The funds will primarily be distributed through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program (SDWLP), which will support 106 municipalities in their efforts to build critical water infrastructure projects, replace lead service lines and confront emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The allocated funds will become available as municipalities incur related costs over the coming year. The funding not only comes from the DNR’s SDWLP ($276.7 million), it will also be combined with the Supplemental Drinking Water Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding ($24.9 million), Emerging Contaminant (PFAS) Drinking Water BIL funding ($26.6 million) and the Lead Service Line Replacement BIL Funding ($74.1 million). Wisconsin municipalities currently have 167,000 known lead service lines that need to be replaced. In addition to that, synthetic chemicals known as PFAS, which are notorious for their resistance to breaking down in the environment, have been discovered in groundwater in various communities across Wisconsin, including Marinette, Madison, Wausau, the town of Campbell on French Island and Green Bay. Preliminary projects approved for funding include $30 million for the city of Milwaukee to replace lead pipes. Of this, $17 million will be granted as principal forgiveness, with the remainder accessible through a loan carrying a meager 0.25 percent interest rate. Another noteworthy project is the allocation of $17 million to the city of Wausau. These funds are aimed at the construction of a treatment system at Wausau's water treatment facility, with the goal of reducing PFAS concentrations. This financial support is divided into $5.1 million in principal forgiveness and the remaining $12.3 million at a subsidized interest rate. The village of Reedsville will receive more than $3 million to add ion exchange treatment to address recent nitrate exceedances. Any remaining funding will be used to upgrade the well and other aging equipment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ https://theconstructionbroadsheet.com/wisconsin-set-to-loan-m-for-local-drinking-water-projects-p1559-175.htm $17 million in Emerging Contaminant funding to the city of Wausau for reduction of PFAS in drinking water through construction of a long-term treatment system at the city's new drinking water treatment facility - $5.1 million of principal forgiveness and $12.3 million at a subsidized interest rate. The city will also receive almost $5.8 million in Lead Service Line Replacement funding - more than $3.6 million of principal forgiveness and the balance through a 0.25% loan; ________________________________________________________ General construction of a drinking water treatment facility including sitework, yard piping, CMU building, pressure vessels for granular activated carbon treatment, process piping and equipment, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and instrumentation and control.
