Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; for paving for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Job will be paid by actual weigh tickets delivered to the job. Price of e-rtiix includes tack coat and shipping. Prep work, such as sweeping and cleaning included in the total estimated cost. 1. Locations and approximate area: Collinwood Elementary School Section 1--Front--existing pavement areas Approximately 4,066 square yards 60 tons leveling mix prior to overlay 396 tons surface hot-mix (1.5") All other areas--existing pavement areas Approximately 4,674 square yards 60 tons leveling mix prior to overlay 448 tons surface hot-mix (1.5") Collinwood Middle School Front--Existing pavement areas Approximately 5186 square yards 100 tons leveling mix prior to overlay 428 tons surface hot-mix (1.5") Frank Hughes School Front/Polk Street/rear of gym-Existing pavement areas Approximately 6,800 square yards 100 tons leveling mix prior to overlay 200 tons 6" base stone 928 tons surface hot-mix (1.5") Waynesboro Middle School Rear parking and College Street side Approximately 4,400 square yards 100 tons leveling mix prior to overlay 364 tons surface hot-mix (1.5") 2. Examination. Bidders should verify existing site conditions before bidding. 3. Preparation. The prepared surface to receive paving shall be intact, firm, properly cured, and dry. 4. Paving Materials A. Mineral aggregate, Type A Base, Grading "D" TDOT item number 303-01 B. Asphalt Cement for Tack Coat (TC), TDOT item number 403-02. C. E-Mix for Asphaltic Concrete Surface (ACS), Grading "E" TDOT item number 411-02.01. 5. Paving Thickness A. New paving and resurfacing shall be as specified on the bid sheets. 6. Installation A. Construct/install paving per Tennessee Department ofTransportation specifications. Paving operations shall be completed by July 25, 2023. B. Do all grading and trimming required to bring sub-grades to required elevations and profiles and compact thoroughly by rolling. Remove and replace soft materials, which cannot be compacted by rolling, with base course material or mixed with sufficient base course material to allow compaction. C. Place pavement layers in lifts of uniform thickness. The minimum compacted layer thickness for crushed stone shall be at least 4 inches. Some areas already have crushed stone in place. D. The surface of each course shall be thoroughly cleaned before succeeding course is applied and shall then be primed with a tack coat, unless it is devoid of cleavage planes, sufficiently viscous to react to form a complete and thorough bond with the succeeding course. E. Each course shall be properly shaped and thoroughly compacted until it does not weave under the roller. F. The compacted paving shall be dense and smooth and shall contain no low spots that will hold water, no open cracks, and no soft spots. Skin patching will not be permitted. Where a patch is required, the mixture shall be loosened and hot-mix bituminous mixture added, or shall be cut out and new mixture placed therein and compacted. G. All joints shall present the same texture, density and smoothness as other sections ofthe course. The joints between old and new pavement or between successive days work shall be carefully made in such a manner as to insure a continuous bond between old and new sections. All contact surfaces ofpreviously constructed pavements H. shall be painted with a uniform coat oftack coat material just before the fresh mixture is placed. I. Furnish all equipment necessary and of adequate size to produce a pavement ofthe quality specified. J. Inspection will provided by the Wayne County Board ofEducation. 7. Maintenance and Protection Maintain satisfactorily the sub-grade, base course and finishing course, as each is completed, until completion and acceptance of all work under the contract. After final rolling, no vehicular traffic of any kind shall be permitted on the pavement until it has cooled and hardened. 8. Warranty The contractor shall guarantee in writing the satisfactory performance of the completed bituminous paving for a period of one year after completion ofthe paving installation.
