Site work for a transportation facility in Naples, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a 11,948-square-foot, one-story above grade transportation facility.
The project consists of improvements to the Marco Island Executive Airport in Collier County, Florida. Specifically, this project consists of the design and construction of a new 12,000 sq-ft hangar. The objective of our study was to obtain information concerning subsurface conditions at the project site in order to obtain data to support the design and to base engineering estimates and recommendations in each of the following areas: 1. General location and description of potentially deleterious materials discovered in the borings which may interfere with construction progress and structure performance, including existing fills or surficial organics/muck. 2. Feasibility of utilizing shallow spread foundation systems or deep foundation systems for support of the proposed hangar. Suitability of a slab-on-grade. 3. Design parameters required for the proposed structure foundation systems, including allowable bearing pressures, foundation levels, pile axial capacity, and soil compaction recommendations. 4. Identification of groundwater levels. 5. Performed laboratory testing on representative soil samples from the borings. Testing included fines content, Atterberg limits, natural moisture content, and organic content testing. Q & A deadline: May 02, 2023 5:00:00 PM EDT Contract duration: 240 days
