Bid Results: Woodway Builders - $34,550 Bearwest Pacific LLC - $37,700 Demolition of existing driveway (approximately (3,880 sq ft.), prep for new materials, replacement of existing driveway with variations shown below. Widen driveway approach to 18 on the Linda Pease St driveway entrance. Place concrete 6 thick on approach; the remainder should be 4 thick. Use 5sk-3,000 psi Portland cement ready mix concrete and reinforcement steel per City of Huntsville Specifications for a Standard Driveway (see Attachment 2). Turn three stairs on driveway (to the side of back door) into a ramp. Awarded respondent is responsible for requesting all utility locate requests and any damage to said utilities. The City of Huntsville is accepting bids to replace the existing driveway at the Wynne Home Arts and Visitor Center. All questions concerning the solicitation should be directed to the Procurement Manager, Lucy Gonzalez at e-mail lgonzalez@huntsvilletx.gov. All questions or request for interpretation must be received by April 18, 2023 @ 5:00 P.M. as addressed above. All questions or requests for interpretation concerning the solicitation received after April 18, 2023 @ 5:00 P.M. will be considered void and unacceptable. All who wish to attend may pre-register. Technical Specifications & Information The City of Huntsville is requesting bids to establish a purchase order for services to replace the driveway at the Wynne Home Arts and Visitor Center per the scope of work below. This project has an estimated budget of $30,000. Any manufacturer's names, trade names, brand names, or catalog numbers used in the specifications are there for the purpose of establishing and describing style, general performance and quality levels. Such references are not intended to be restrictive, and bids are invited on these and comparable brands or products of any manufacturer. If bidding other than the referenced brand, please submit full descriptive literature with bid. Chapter 2258, Texas Government Code, Title 10 requires that state agencies, cities, counties, independent school districts, and all other political subdivisions that engage in public works construction projects to produce and include prevailing wage rate determinations in the project bidding and contract documents. Chapter 2258 requires that the contractor who is awarded a contract by a public body and a contractor's subcontractor shall pay not less than the rates determined by such agencies to workers employed for the execution of such work. Pursuant to Chapter 2258, the City of Huntsville has ascertained the wages in Attachment 1 to be paid for the various classifications of workers, in the locality of this project. In determining these wages, the City has utilized the Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the U.S. DOL in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act. Removal of Debris The awarded respondent expressly undertakes at his own expense: a) To store his apparatus, materials, supplies and equipment in such orderly fashion at the site of the work in such manner that will not interfere with the progress of work; b) To clear up frequently all refuse, rubbish, scrap materials and debris to the end that at all times the site of the work shall present a neat, orderly and workmanlike appearance; and c) Before final payment to remove all surplus materials, false work, temporary structures, and debris of every nature resulting from work, and to put the site in a neat, orderly condition
