Site work for a civil project in Hawarden, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work will consist of the construction of approximately: Base Bid 660 C.Y. Class 10 Excavation 1,870 C.Y. Embankment Borrow 425 L.F. 4" Subdrain Alternate No. 1 600 L.F. 12" RCP Storm Sewer 4 Ea. Area Intakes and other related construction work. The purpose of this study was to explore the subsurface conditions at the site to prepare recommendations for foundation systems for the proposed construction. Our scope of services included performing Borings B1 and B2 to 50 feet below the existing grade and Borings B3 and B4 to depths of 30 feet below the existing grade in the project area. The scope of work also included select laboratory testing, and preparation of this geotechnical report. This report briefly outlines the testing procedures, presents available project information, describes the site and subsurface conditions, and presents recommendations regarding the following: o Suitability of site for the construction of the proposed project o Site preparation and grading procedures for project o Foundation types, depths, allowable bearing capacities and estimate for potential settlement o Soil design information for the foundations o Comments regarding factors that will impact construction and performance of the proposed construction. The scope of services does not include an environmental assessment of the site.
