Site work and paving for a road / highway in Beebe, South Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The estimated quantities for the above are as follows: Resealing 50 blocks more or less as per specifications on file at the City Office. All work is to be done in strict accordance with plans and specifications held at the City Office. The about mentioned plans and specifications have therefore been approved by the City Board and are on file for public examination in the city office and may be examined by bidders. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Cashiers or Certified check issued by a national or state bank of South Dakota in an amount not less than (5%) five percent of the total bid or in lieu thereof a bid bond for (10%) ten percent of the amount of the bid, such bond to be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in South Dakota. The successful bidder will be required to post a 100% performance bond. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. The successful bidder will be required to file Certificate of Insurance with the City Finance Officer for General Liability with limits of $1,000,000.00 and Workmens Compensation Insurance with limits of $500,000.00 before work begins. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Seal Coat Work: contractor will first sweep the streets to be oiled. The seal coat shall consist of MC - 3000 asphalt base oil, to be applied at the rate of 0.30 gallons per square yard. Application of the asphalt base oil shall be immediately followed with a cover coat of mineral aggregate to be furnished by the contractor as follows: 3/8" crushed quartzite chips or washed and screened 1/2 " or 3/8" pea rock. The mineral aggregate shall be uniformly distributed by means of a self-propelled chip spreader at the rate of approximately 30 pounds per square yard. Immediately after the spreading of the mineral aggregate, it shall be rolled with a self-propelled roller weighing not less than five tons, after first being dragged to insure uniform spreading. Any bleeding through of the oil after rolling shall be covered with enough aggregate to absorb the bleeding, and then rolled until compact. If agreed upon, a topcoat ofoil, or fog seal, is to be applied on top of the mineral aggregate.
