Removal of existing AWOS-III PT system Removal of existing power cable/circuitry Installation of new AWOS-III PT system Tower may be replaced entirely or sanded/prepped and repainted, contractors choice NOTE: The surveying for the elevation and wind direction benchmarks (requirements for the AWOS installation) will be performed by the Owners surveyor and paid for by the Owner outside of the contractors contract. Therefore, costs associated with the surveying of these two benchmarks shall not be needed in the contractors bid proposal costs. Installation of new power cable/circuitry One-year maintenance agreement for required FAA & manufacturer inspections Work will be that associated with the replacement of the airport's existing AWOS-III PT system with a new AWOS-III PT system and shall consist of the following: (1) the removal of the existing AWOS system; (2) the removal of the existing AWOS power circuit; (3) and the installation of a new AWOS system and power circuits. Other incidental items of work necessary for the successful completion of the project may also be required. Additional bid requirements are more specifically defined in Section B of the technical specifications for the project. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the plans and technical specifications prepared for this project. The award of the contract will be based on the lowest qualified bid proposal for the project, if awarded. No additional questions will be accepted after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Contractors must be qualified under Alabama Law to perform the construction activities desired by the Owner and must be registered with the State of Alabama's Licensing Board for General Contractors to perform the work specifically addressed in this project. Contractors must have the "Heavy / Railroad" (H/RR) or "Heavy / Railroad - Specialty" (H/RR-S) classification. It should be noted that contractors must have this classification added to their license prior to bid opening or are at risk of having their bid rejected. The successful Bidder, whether a resident or nonresident of the State of Alabama, shall be required to comply with all other applicable City, County and State licensing and/or permit laws.
