Demolition, site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Newburgh, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The Work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown on the plans and described in these specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following: The Walsh Road (BIN 2223620) Bridge Replacement involves the complete replacement of the bridge that carries Walsh Road over the Quassaick Creek. The project is located in the City of Newburgh, Orange County, NY. Work includes the removal he steel multi girder system supporting a reinforced concrete deck and the abutments which consist of original stone masonry encased in concrete then replacing them with a precast structure. Temporary waterway diversion and dewatering measures, replacing approach roadway pavement and appurtenances, and restoring disturbed areas within the project limits are also included. The project is being progressed by the City of Newburgh with oversight from the NYSDOT Local Projects Unit. The City of Newburgh reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or portions of the proposal. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the Bid. The Successful Bidder shall provide Faithful Performance and Payment Bonds from an acceptable Surety Company, each equal to 100% of the Contract amount. provisions in this contract. The replacement of the bridge that carries Walsh Road over the Quassaick Creek in the City of Newburgh, Orange County, NY(BIN 2223620). The work at Walsh Rd shall consist of: Coordination with utility companies to ensure protection and relocation of underground and overhead utilities. Seasonal restrictions on gas main outages are in effect. Contractor to relocate municipally owned water and stormwater lines. Coordination with CSX Railroad to perform work within and adjacent to their right-ofway Installation of M PT measures and detour signage to allow the bridge work to proceed under a full roadway closure. Installation of a temporary waterway diversion structure to allow construction to proceed in dry conditions. Installation of soil erosion and sediment control measures as required. Removal of the existing concrete deck, steel superstructure, concrete encased steel and stone abutments, and excavation of the surrounding fill to accommodate the proposed structure. Installation of micropiles and concrete pile cap. Installation of a 3-sided precast concrete arch frame and precast concrete wingwalls. Backfill with structural fill, installation of natural streambed material, and placement stream bank and / or slope protection in the form of stone fill. New pavement and new roadway appurtenances as necessary, including box beam guide rail, signage, and striping. Topsoil, seeding, and landscaping as necessary to restore disturbed areas. plans and/or specifications must be directed, in writing, to both the Consultant Project Engineer Nicole Shute, PE at Nicole.Shute@wsp.com and Owner/Engineer Jason Morris, PE atjmorris@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov.
