The City of Medford, led by its Department of Public Works, is accepting sealed bids for Water Meter Installation in Medford, Massachusetts. The Owner currently utilizes a fixed network AMI system by Aclara Technologies LLC (Aclara) and is replacing the entire system with the procured Kamstrup fixed network AMI system and Kamstrup water meters. The Owner has been self-performing 5/8-inch meter replacements for residential accounts with estimated reads and some meter replacements for meters greater than 5/8-inch. These accounts are scattered throughout the City. By Summer 2023, the Owner expects to have completed approximately 1,200 meter replacements. The Work consists of the replacement of existing residential and commercial water meters 5/8-inch and greater in size and appurtenant work, and all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the Specifications attached hereto. Additional specifications may be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the Owner or its Engineer, and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, plant, machinery, apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies, and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the Work and as herein specified. The Work to be done and paid for under any item shall not be limited to the exact extent mentioned or described but shall include all incidental work necessary or customarily done for the completion of that item.
