Demolition and site work for a residential development in Chatham, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The proposed work consists of demolition and removal of buildings, trees and foundations below grade, including the removal of non-operational utility services and restoring the site to a level aggregate surface upon completion. All adjacent roadways shall be protected from construction activities, including necessary signage for sidewalk closures. All materials removed shall be properly disposed of off-site in accordance with IEPA requirements, the contractor shall be responsible for dust control, and all applicable village ordinances shall remain in effect for this project, officially known as the Building Demolition and Clearing Village Property on the West Side of Square, Illinois. The project shall consist of the demolition and removal of five (5) buildings and associated adjacent appurtenances and improvements along the west side of North Market Street between Chestnut Street and Mulberry Street in the village of Chatham. P.I.N.s (28120430019, 28120430020, 28120430013, 28120430023, 2820430022). These properties are wholly owned by the Village of Chatham. Adjacent on-street parking, alleyways and sidewalks shall remain in place. Inspection of the existing building may be made in advance of bidding by contacting the Village. Salvage of existing materials and equipment (i.e. steel, building materials, lighting, air conditioning units, etc.) by the contractor shall be reflected in the submitted bid package. All work shall be in accordance with the contract documents and details and shall be performed in a continuous and workmanlike manner. All labor and materials are included as part of this Request for Proposals and shall be subject to the Illinois Department of Labor Prevailing Wages for such work. As a condition of this contract, all work shall be performed by a contractor skilled in site demolition with a minimum of 5-years experience. 3. Method of Payment: This project will be based on a Lump Sum total per the advertised Schedule of Quantities. All materials furnished shall be from an Illinois Department of Transportation approved source. The Owner reserves the right to waive technicalities or to reject any or all proposals. Award will not be made solely upon low bid but rather the initial selection by the Village of Chatham Board.
