Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Lakewood, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
SCOPE OF WORK: (A) CLEVELAND ES: Removal and replacement of playground asphalt. Scope also includes, but is not limited to demolition of existing asphalt, installation of new compactible base, new asphalt and seal coat, and new playground striping. (B) RILEY ES: Removal and replacement of playground and staff parking lot asphalt. Scope also includes, but is not limited to demolition of existing asphalt, installation of new compactible base, new asphalt and seal coat, and new playground striping. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: At the time bids are submitted, each bidder shall possess a valid license A and/or C-12 and must maintain the license throughout the duration of the project. Prequalification Submissions Due: 3/30/23. Requests for Information (RFIs) Due: 4/4/23 - 12:00pm AWARD: This bid contains two (2) separate project packages and two (2) separate lisitings on PlanetBids. Please ensure you are completing the correct bid form for the project for which you are submitting a bid. The District intends to award a separate contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for each project. Bidders are not required to submit a bid for both project packages. If awarded both projects, work must be done concurrently and completed within the project duration stated in the bid documents. Contractors awarded multiple projects shall not be given additional time to complete the projects. See bid documents for additional information. DISTRICT ALLOWANCE: A District allowance of 10% of the estimated per project cost listed above, will be added to the awarded contract. An extra Special Allowance of $100,000 will be added to the award for the contract at Riley ES. See bid form(s) for more information. BID SECURITY: A bid bond should be submitted in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) for each Bidder's project bid submission, i.e., if the bidder issubmitting bidsfor both projects(A & B), a separate bid bond must be included for each submission. Successful Bidder will be required to furnish 100% Payment and Performance Bonds with the awarded contract. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. PREVAILING WAGES: The successful Bidder and its subcontractors shall pay all workers on the Project not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are available from the District or on the Internet at: www.dir.ca.gov. Bidders and Bidders' subcontractors shall comply with the registration and qualification requirements pursuant to sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 of the California Labor Code. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): All questions are to be submitted electronically through Planet Bids only and will be due on April 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Any RFI submitted in any other format or in any other method shall go unanswered.
