OWNER operates and maintains an extensive network of wells, pumps, and raw water mains that transfer well water to the water treatment facilities. Since 2015, OWNER has retained BlueWater Solutions Group, Inc. (ENGINEER) to oversee planning, design, and resident inspection and administration-related services of the Work secured through a competitive bidding process. ENGINEER has provided OWNER with periodically inspection, assessment, hydraulic modeling, and improvement reports and recommendations (excluding the OWNERs existing ground water wells, pumps, and control systems). The work has been sequenced during this time over three previous phases, the last phase (Phase III) being completed in mid-2018. This next and final phase (Phase IV) is needed to complete the hydraulic cleaning work for remainder of the transmission system that includes approximately 14,000 of pipeline, ranging from 8 to 16inch in diameter that are served by six (6) existing wells. These include three (3) on the north side and three (3) on the south side of the Kansas River. All six wells discharge through an existing pipeline system that transfer ground water the control structure and on the South side of the river crossing to an existing control structure described herein as the H-Structure. The above work will also include necessary excavations, installations of certain fittings, gate valves (optional), and debris/sludge management (removal and disposal).
