The work is described generally as constructing approximately 7,500 linear feet (LF) of trail, a 90 LF steel pedestrian bridge, two 14-foot clear span (16-foot total length) wood bridges, drainage improvements, minor structures for earth retainment or drainage, concrete abutments, concrete footings, trail signage, and new fencing. The Contractor must have a valid California contractor's license, a Class A General Engineering Contracting license or a Class C-12 license. The security must be in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the proposal amount payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid total will be required from the successful bidder for bids exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). A performance bond will also be required for bids exceeding twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000). The bond(s) must be provided within fifteen (15) calendar days from notice of award and prior to the performance of any work The Contractor must begin work within fifteen (15) calendar days after official notice by the City Engineer to proceed with the work and must diligently prosecute the same to completion within 240 calendar days of that Notice The City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work.
