Renovation of a communication facility in Soldotna, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a communication facility.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough for the NFSA Repeater Upgrade. The project consists of: Purchasing, ordering, replacing the old repeater with the new one, installing battery backup, replacing old duplexer with a new one, installing a server rack, replacing the old coax and antenna and upgrading it to a new one, and tuning to appropriate frequencies. Requests from Bidders for interpretation or clarification of the Bid Documents shall be made in writing to the Purchasing and Contracting Director and shall arrive no later than 5:00 PM on April 18, 2023. Questions may be submitted through the online questions and answers section of this bid on BidExpress.com, faxed to (907) 714-2373 or emailed to purchasing@kpb.us. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1.1 Objective of this project is to provide Nikiski Fire Service Area with hardware, installation, and warranty service in order to upgrade Nikiski Fire Service Areas current repeater station located at Page Hill radio site in Nikiski, Alaska. 1.2 A bid will need to be submitted for the following things: A) One (1) 100-watt VHF repeater complete with Duplexer, DC Power Supply, and battery backup. The repeater must have capability to do Analog and P25 Phase 1, with a seven (7) foot two (2) post rack. B) One (1) 100-watt VHF repeater with DC Power Supply that is capable to do analog and P25 phase 1. C) 7/8 Heliax Cable with connectors and Polyphaser Kit. It must be a 120-foot 7/8 cable with N-Female Connectors, Polyphaser and grounding kits and mounting hardware to the tower. D) DB VHF Station Master OMNI Antenna, 21-foot OMNI Fiberglass Antenna. E) Swapping of the old repeater with the new one. F) Installation of the repeater described in subsection 1.2(A) above, installation of new cable described in subsection 1.2(C) above, and installation of the OMNI Antenna described in subsection 1.2(D) above. The repeater in subsection 1.2(B) will ONLY be a backup repeater. G) Tuning of the duplexer to Nikiski Fire Service Area repeater frequencies. H) Configuring both repeaters to the necessary requirements to achieve optimal operations required for Nikiski Fire Service Area. I) Provide information on warranty coverage as well as any costs that would be associated with warranty work, if any at all. 1.3 It is highly recommended that the bidder is able to visit the site and provide an accurate bid. The hardware listed in subsection 1.2 may or may not fit the space available at the repeatersite and powersupply might be different. Visiting the site to provide an accurate bid will be at no cost to Nikiski Fire Service Area. 1.4 The repeaters will be programmed to operate on frequencies: Transmit Frequency 153.770MHz and Receive Frequency 154.145MHz and the duplexer will be tuned to the same frequencies
