The Carver Community Center, through its Board of Directors, is soliciting Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) from qualified firms to provide the following services: executive engagement, visioning, strategic planning and follow-up meetings. The Carver Community Center Board of Directors is dedicated to the restoration of this historic building as a community facility located in Cumberland, Maryland. The Carver Community Center, located at 340 Frederick St. Cumberland, was constructed in 1921 and was originally a school for African American students known as George Washington Carver High School. Consultants should respond to this RFQ with a Statement of Qualifications ("SOQ") that address all the following services. These descriptions identify the minimum scope of services that may be provided by a qualified consultant. Specific details of the scope of work will be identified after the selection of the consultant. 1) Strategic planning a) Provide technical assistance to develop a strategic plan that will be the foundation for short and long-term planning decisions. b) Assist in the further creation of vision, mission, core values and goals for the organization. 2) Stakeholder engagement a) Interface with the stakeholders to identify key components and strategies: i) Board of Directors ii) Community members iii) Key service providers, and iv) Public, if applicable For additional information regarding this RFQ may be obtained from Ruth Davis-Rogers, Historic Preservation Planner, at the Cumberland City Hall (lower level), 57 N.
