The City of Maquoketa is requesting sealed competitive quotes for the removal and disposal of Class B Bio-Solids from the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Bidders will furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and services required for the disposal of Class B Solids from the City of Maquoketa’s Waste Water Treatment Plant’s sludge storage lagoon Please keep in mind that sales tax does not pertain to municipal work and should not be included in your bid. Duration of Quote: Your quote(s) shall be for a complete and not-to-exceed amount. All quotes shall be good for 30 days after the bid opening. For any quotes to be considered, they must include all required information and prices which would include purchase, delivery and installation. Timeline: All work is to be completed no later than December 1, 2023, December 1, 2025, and December 1, 2027. The City reserves the right to reject all bids, waive informalities and make a decision that best suits the interests of the citizens of Maquoketa. Time of work: The sludge to be removed on a biennial basis starting in the fall of 2023. The contract will be for (6) years. Project Commencement: Commencement of the project may begin after a notice to proceed is issued on behalf of the City. A notice to proceed will only be issued when all forms required for the project (such as insurance and bonds) are received and on file at Maquoketa City Hall. Insurance: During the term of the project, the Contractor shall maintain, at their sole expense, the following insurance policies. Even if the City has an insurance certification on file, all bids MUST be accompanied with a copy of Invoicing: The Contractor must understand and agree that bills must be approved at the next available City Council meeting before a bill can be paid. The Maquoketa City Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month and invoices to be paid must be submitted to Maquoketa City Hall on the Wednesday prior to a Council meeting to be approved at the Council meeting.
